A Vision for Families Worldwide.

Solution: KWCWC

JRJFI, in conjunction with USAID and the Government of Kenya, has partnered in promoting equity and excellence in health care for Kenya's women and children, through the Kenya Women and Children's Wellness Centre, with special focus on those from the underprivileged, under-sourced and those from difficult social circumstances.
Major programmed elements were developed to:
  • Serve Kenya's most under-served neighborhoods;
  • Identify families who are in critical need of services;
  • Provide a safe haven during the most difficult times of families' lives;
  • Emphasize HIV/AIDS awareness;
  • Give children the gift of safety;
  • Foster a culture of respect and dignity;
  • Break down barriers to accessible and affordable healthcare;
  • Mentor those suffering from violence;
  • Emphasize the power of self-awareness; and
  • Provide education and training on staying safe, healthy, and happy.
The Wellness Centre will provide care for the millions of women and children whose lives depend on it.  The work of the centre extends beyond treating problems such as disease, gender violence and poverty; it also exists to prevent them.  The Wellness Centre has been designed to foster a sense of community and comfort in an environment that can be intimidating and unfamiliar for the women and children who have never experienced medical care that is tragically hard to come by in a country in dire need of global medical attention.  Too many are forced to go without care.  Additional outreach and education on critical issues are needed to empower the women and children of Kenya to protect themselves.

The Foundation's goal has always been to come-alongside the Government of Kenya to create a holistic healthcare model from infrastructure to implementation.  When our work is completed, and we remove ourselves from this project, we anticipate that our leadership will be replaced by an efficient Government of Kenya - Ministry of Health, a civil community and a growing private sector.
